Abstract

Motor development in early childhood is a key factor in supporting children’s optimal growth and development. A lack of motor stimulation can affect children’s coordination, concentration, and independence. This community service activity aims to improve the fine motor skills of young children through creative play activities, specifically a “spot the difference” game and making bracelets from beads at the Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kindergarten, Wonomulyo Branch. The method used is a participatory approach through the stages of observation, coordination, planning, activity implementation, mentoring, and evaluation. The activity involved 30 young children with guidance from teachers and a team of lecturers. The results of the activity showed an improvement in the children’s fine motor skills after participating in the creative play activities. In the “spot the difference” activity, 60% of the children were in the “good” fine motor skills category, 30% in the “adequate” category, and 10% in the “poor” category. Meanwhile, in the activity of making bracelets from beads, 66.7% of the children were in the good category, 26.7% in the adequate category, and 6.6% in the poor category. In addition to improving children’s motor skills, this activity also enhanced teachers’ understanding of the importance of stimulating motor development through creative play methods. This community service activity is expected to serve as a promotive and preventive effort in supporting the optimal growth and development of young children.
