Abstract

MSMEs making knives have the potential risk of work accidents due to the use of sharp tools, grinding machines, and metal burning processes. This service activity aims to increase workers' understanding of occupational safety and health (K3) through the hazard identification method. The activity was carried out at MSMEs making knives in Lam Blang Trieng Village, Darul Imarah District, Aceh Besar Regency with observation methods, hazard identification, and education to workers. The results of the activity showed that there were several potential hazards such as cut wounds, eye injuries due to metal splashes, burns, respiratory problems due to metal dust, and muscle complaints due to unergonomic working positions. The K3 education provided is expected to increase workers' awareness in applying the principles of occupational safety and the use of personal protective equipment to reduce the risk of work accidents. In addition, this activity also encourages workers to better understand the importance of implementing safe work procedures and a healthy work environment. With the increase in knowledge and awareness of workers, it is hoped that the risk of work accidents in knife manufacturing MSMEs can be minimized.
