This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of a handwashing function introduction program and healthy lifestyle education in preventing diseases among early childhood students at RA Nurul Iman, Baubau City. The background of this research is based on the low level of awareness and healthy living behaviors among children, which contributes to a high risk of infectious diseases such as diarrhea and respiratory tract infections. The research employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of 30 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using observation sheets and simple questionnaires to measure students' knowledge and behavior before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant improvement in students' knowledge and behavior following the educational intervention. Prior to the intervention, most students did not understand the importance of proper handwashing. After the intervention, more than 80% of the students were able to explain the function of handwashing, and more than 85% demonstrated handwashing behaviors in accordance with the correct procedures. These findings indicate that a practice-based educational approach is effective in developing healthy habits among young children. The study concludes that the handwashing function introduction program and healthy lifestyle education are effective in improving students' knowledge and behavior as a disease prevention effort. Therefore, health education programs should be continuously integrated into school learning activities and supported by an adequate environment.
